Erhard J. Glander, age 85, of South Main Street, Saukville, WI passed away peacefully Friday, December 18, 2015 at his home.

He was born on July 20, 1930 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; son of Erhard and Bertha Buherer Glander Sr. In 1937, the family moved to Saukville where he attended school. Erhard graduated from St. Norbert’s High School in DePere, WI in 1949. He returned to Saukville to work with his father at Glander Metal Inc., a metal fabrication company started in 1932.

On December 29, 1951, Erhard married Anne Marie Bendikas of Port Washington at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Together they raised their family in Saukville. During his youth, Erhard was active with the Wisconsin National Guard Reserves for over ten years.

Erhard defined Glander Metal and Glander Metal defined him. Now in its third generation of the Glander family, Erhard enjoyed time spent at the shop. He had been a member of the Saukville Village Board years ago. His wife, Anne Marie preceded him in death on September 9, 2001.

He is survived by his children Patti (John) Schmit of Elk River, MN; Paul (Susanna) Glander of Harrison, AR; Tom Glander of Saukville; Mike (Marie) Glander of Fillmore; Lisa Glander of Saukville; Jill Glander of Grafton and Stacy Haas of Random Lake; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters Mary Ann Parlow of West Bend and Barbara Bransky of Belen, NM; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Erhard is preceded by his wife, his sister Helen Ewig and brother August Glander.

Memorial services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the POOLE FUNERAL HOME/Crematory, 203 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI. Pastoral Associate Deb Hamm will preside. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saukville. Family will receive friends from Noon-2PM Tuesday prior to the service. Memorials to the charity of choice appreciated.
