Elizabeth J. Schaefer, 87, of Parknoll Lane, Port Washington died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital – Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, Wisconsin.
She was born February 17, 1917 To Anton “Tony” Wolovlek and Helen Bleccah in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She married Herbert F. Schaefer on November 25, 1939 at St. Mary’s in Port Washington. For many years she was a beautician with Angie Kultgen above the former Ben Franklin in downtown Port Washington. A member of St. Mary’s Church she sang with the choir also. In the early 1980’s she suffered a stroke.
Betty is survived by her husband Herb and son Jerry (Suzi) Schaefer of Port Washington. She was the proud grandmother of Beth (John) Geffers of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Steve Schaefer of Port Washington and a great grandmother of Sydney. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her brothers Frank and Tony Wolovlek and a sister, Mary Janeshek precede her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Allan Sommer on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 1 pm. Interment parish cemetery. Visitation after 11 am Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, 430 Johnson Street, Port Washington. A rosary will be prayed for her at 11 am. Memorials to the St Mary’s Choir appreciated.
