Video of Memorial Service for Don and Pat Prom

Donald “Donny” Prom, formerly of Port Washington, WI, passed away in his Prescott Valley, AZ home on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Donny faced many health challenges towards the end of his life, but his ever-present sense of humor even at his toughest moments was a testament to his strength.

Donny was one of eight children born January 9, 1941 in Port Washington to John and Cecelia Zipperer Prom. He attended Port Washington High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as a machinist at Construction Forms in Port Washington until his retirement.

It was the simple things that made Donny happy. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. A devoted grandfather, he would take his grandchildren to the park every day in the summers, even when he had to work later that night. He also loved working on projects around the yard and working on garden tractors in his garage.

Don cared deeply for his family and friends. He was always there to offer help, wisdom, and support to those he loved.

Donald was known and loved by many. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Patricia, his stepson Jamie, his grandchildren, great-grandchild, and his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Donny was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters, and three step-sons. Every life he touched was better for his presence in it.

A memorial service will be held 5 pm Friday, September 10, 2021 at Poole Funeral Home, 203 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington, WI. Visitation from 1 -5 pm Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. I worked with Donny at CF. He had the best sense of humor. He retired years before me but I would stop on my way home to have a few beers with him. He will be missed.

  2. Sorry to hear about your loss, may he Rest In Peace .
I got to know Donny when he and his grandchildren came to the bank where I worked. Always very friendly, big smile and certainly did enjoy having his grandchildren with him. He is a 2nd or 3rd cousin of my husband Robert.
