Josephine A. Gantner, 88, of Highland Drive, Port Washington died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital – Ozaukee Campus in Mequon.
She was born March 8, 1915 to John and Josephine Jeray Trepel in Grafton Wisconsin. On April 17, 1941 she married Edwin Gantner of Belgium, Wisconsin in South Dakota. They moved to Knellsville and raised her family. Edwin preceded her in death April 16, 1969.
Josephine was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and knitting, tending to her flowers and garden and reading. She liked to be on the go, enjoying travelling and just getting out. She was a member of the Port Washington Senior Citizens and loved Port Washington and Lake Michigan. She will be remembered as an excellent mother and the rock of the family.
She is survived by her children Joanne (Edward) Schmidt and Paul (Sandy Koziol) Gantner, both of the town of Port Washington and Pamela (Thomas) Lennox of Auburn, NY. Josephine was the proud grandma of 6 grandchildren and dear sister of John (Joyce) Trepel of Port Washington and the late Mary “Mitzi” Bentz. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial 6:30PM Friday, January 2, 2004 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1802 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI. Interment parish cemetery. Visitation 4 – 6 PM Friday AT CHURCH. Memorials appreciated.
