Joan V. Tholl, age 89, formerly of Port Washington, WI, died peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Belgium Gardens where she has lived the past ten years.

Born in the town of Port Washington, in an area that used to be called “Dimmersville”, Joan graduated from Port Washington High School, class of 1944. On September 10, 1949, she married Joseph Bialzik of Port Washington at St. Mary’s Church in Lake Church, town of Belgium. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1966.

For many years, Joan worked at the former Lake Church Leather Company. She also worked in the offices at Allen Edmonds Shoe Company in Lake Church and Belgium, retiring in 1986.

On July 28, 1978, Joan married Francis “Fritz” Tholl of Holy Cross at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1983.

Joan was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Lake Church and their Christian Women group. She had been a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and reading. She made puzzles and played a lot of Sheepshead.

She is survived by her children Janice (Dale) Weyenberg of Green Bay, Gene (Pat) Bialzik of Saukville, Susan (the late Dick) Jushka of Port Washington and Mary (Tim) Kohlwey of Grafton, 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, her sister Carol (Henry) Schmitz of Grafton; her sisters-in-law Loretta Croatt and Susie Croatt, both of Port Washington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, two brothers James and Dennis Croatt and her sister Janice Croatt.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6PM Monday, October 5, 2015 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1802 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington. Reverend Thomas Lijewski will be the celebrant. Visitation will take place from 4-6PM Monday AT CHURCH prior to the Mass. She will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church.
