Angela G. Tackes, age 90, of Grafton, WI died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, WI.

She was born May 30, 1929 in the Town of Port Washington, WI to Frank and Anna Heinz Federmeyer. She was raised on the family farm and attended local schools. She married Stanley C. Tackes of the Town of Belgium, WI on June 9, 1956 at St. Florian Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. In 1958 they moved to Grafton, WI and started a family.

Angie was a proud homemaker and mom, she was active with the Girl Scouts with her daughters. She also worked for Sprague Mfg. and Tecumseh (Power Products) both in Grafton, WI and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local 1326. She traveled throughout the country, driving and camping along the way with her husband and family. She was an ardent lover of flowers and gardening and collected angels and decorative plates.

She volunteered with her husband at the St. Ben’s Meal Program in Milwaukee and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Grafton for decades. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply and enjoyed spending time with them, transferring to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg in 2009 to hear her grandchildren sing in the choir. Her husband Stanley of 63 years preceded her in death July 4, 2019.

Angie is survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Timothy) Ryan of Cedarburg, Nancy (Dave Mauer) Neylon of the Town of Saukville and Janice (Jeff) Kuenstler. Further survived by grandchildren Zachary Neylon, Angela Ryan, Tyler Ryan, Jon (Katie) Kuenstler and Allen (Krissy) Kuenstler, great-grandchildren:Elyza Kuenstler, Raelyn Kuenstler Wesley Kuenstler, Nate Neylon, Brexley Neylon. She is further survived by her sister Lucille Sutter and sister-in-law Myrtle Tackes. She is loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews and close friends as well.

She is preceded in death by her son Timothy and her siblings Marie “Girlie” Olan, Helen VanDeLoo, Elizabeth Clevenger, Julie McKee, Gertrude, Francis, Joseph, Nicholas, William and Florence Federmeyer.

The Rev. Joel Szydlowski will celebrate Mass of Christian burial at 12:30 pm Thursday, October 17, 2019 St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, WI. Visitation 11:30am-12:30pm AT CHURCH prior to the mass. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, WI. Memorials to Catholic Social Services appreciated.
