Carol A. Penkwitz, age 87, of Port Washington, Wisconsin passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Lincoln Village Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Born in Green Bay, WI on July 6, 1936, Carol was the daughter of Edward and Gladys Rentmeester Rybicki. She met Clarence E. Penkwitz of Port Washington while he was stationed in Green Bay with the US Coast Guard. They were married on July 14, 1956 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay.
A few years later, Carol and Clarence moved to Port Washington. They celebrated 67 years together.
In her youth, Carol worked at Badger Meter and played softball for Simplicity Manufacturing. She was quite the seamstress for her children, cooking and baking treats for the grandchildren. Camping in the early years brought many memories. Later crafts and puzzles kept her busy and the addition of the great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband Clarence, her children Lisa (Fabio) Penkwitz-DeMartino, Jay (Susan) Penkwitz, Lori (Kenneth) Kolbach, Jeff (Lisa) Penkwitz and David (Jodi) Penkwitz, 12 grandchildren Gianluca and Francesca DeMartino, Michael, Nathan and Claire Penkwitz, Christopher (Shannon), Matthew (Anna) and Daniel Kolbach, Josh, Zach and Mikayla Penkwitz and Mercedes (Chris) Miles, great-grandchildren Kylee, Seeley, River and Rose, sisters-in-law Arleen (Kenny) Weiland and Elaine (Jim) Bahr, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bob and his wife Peg Rybicki and Randy and his wife Darlene Rybicki and her brother-in-law Eugene and his wife Fern Penkwitz.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM Saturday. September 16, 2023 at St. John XXIII Parish-St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI. Reverend Patrick Wendt will be the celebrant. Family will receive relatives and friends from 11AM-12:45PM Saturday AT CHURCH prior to Mass. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.
