Margaret “Marge” Elsie Nierode, age 85, formerly of Saukville, Wisconsin, passed away Sunday May 1, 2022 in Fond du Lac.  She was born to George and Esther Droese Fuchs in Catawba, WI on April 21, 1937; one of seventeen children.

Marge had lived in Ozaukee County for over 60 years, mostly in Saukville, but also in Grafton and Port Washington.

Bowling, fishing, socializing with family and friends and travel were a few of her interests.  Most important to her were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Marge had been a Campfire Girl leader for many years when her children were small.  She had been one of Saukville’s first school crossing guards.

On March 22, 1975, Marge married James W. Nierode of Port Washington at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

She is survived by her children, Roberta “Robin” (Nathan) Riggs of Georgetown, TX, Sandra Polgar of Saukville, Pamela (David) Alfano of Tewksbury, MA, Paulina “Polly” (Steven) Peterka of Belgium and Edward (Donna) Polgar of Port Washington; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; dear friend Henry Mueller and his family; brothers and sisters George (Jean) Fox of Racine, Clarence Fox of Mukwonago, Lorraine Hause of Bloomer and Elizabeth (Howard) Otto of Kennan.  Marge is further survived by sisters-in-law Jean Fox of Racine, Donna Fuchs of Ladysmith, Rosalee Fuchs of Phillips and Virginia Fuchs of Phillips, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, son Alexander Polgar, granddaughters Natalie Peterka and Rebecca Peterka, sisters and brothers Dorothy Lallemont, Robert Fuchs, Florence Kosterman, Martha Bauer, Clara Blaskowski, Paul Fuchs, William Fuchs, Mildred Cicha, Arlene Arquette, Elsie Fuchs, Arthur Fuchs and Donald Fuchs.  She is also preceded in brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law Theodore Lallemont, Edward Kosterman, Maximillian Bauer, Jacob Blaskowski, Viola Fox, Alvin Arquette, Charles Cicha, Charlotte Fuchs and Robert Hause.

We will celebrate her life with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. John XXIII Parish-Immaculate Conception Church, 140 W. Church Street, Saukville, WI.  Reverend Patrick Wendt will be the celebrant.  Family will receive relatives and friends from 11AM-12:45PM Saturday AT CHURCH prior to Mass.

Final interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Grafton.
