KultgenJohnPJohn P. Kultgen, 73, of County Trunk B in the town of Port Washington died at his residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

He was born March 18, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anthony and Sylvia Goral Kultgen.  From 1947 until his father died, the family farmed. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962.  On April 10, 1971 he married Marlene Schreiner of Port Washington.

He worked  for Fromm Laboratories in Grafton, was a welder for Egger and Galloway Well Drilling Corp. in Milwaukee, travelling throughout the country.  He also worked for Voeller Manufacturing in Port Washington and most recently was a welder and Yard Material Handler at Construction Forms in Cedarburg and Port Washington from 1972 until 2004.  John was a member of the Ozaukee Memorial Post 5272 VFW.

John is survived by his wife Marlene and daughter Kelly (Brian) Schowalter and their children Emily and Jacob Schowalter all of the town of Port Washington.  Further survived by brother Mike Kultgen, sisters Kathy (Harold) Wendt and Sally (Jim) Erickson and brother-in-law Mark (Lonne) Schreiner all of the town of Port Washington, other relatives and friends.  Preceded by sister Mary Kultgen, brother Paul Kultgen and nephew Jim Erickson, Jr.

Pastor Jeff Suddendorf will officiate funeral services 7 pm Monday, February 15, 2010 at the funeral home.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington with VFW Military Honors.  Visitation 4 – 7 pm Monday at the funeral home with a VFW walkthrough.  Memorials appreciated.
