Ruth C. Heimerl, 88, of W4120 Memorial Drive, Waubeka, town of Fredonia, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation in Port Washington.
She was born September 4, 1921 in Waubeka to Frank and Margaret Henning Hartmann. As a young girl she was a farm girl. On September 23, 1950 she married Joseph B. Heimerl of Little Kohler at St. Mary’s Church in Little Kohler. Together they worked and raised their family. For over 40 years, she and her husband operated Heimerl’s Lumber. Her family will be remembered for the many years they sold Christmas trees in Waubeka. She retired shortly after her husband’s death in 1996. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1995.
Growing up in Waubeka on the family farm, she will be remembered as a hard working woman and straight forward attitude. As a homemaker, she was a great cook and seamstress. She never let a season go by without canning.
She is survived by three sons; Lee (Diane) Heimerl, Lew (Merry) Heimerl and Larry Heimerl, all of Waubeka; four grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Matthew and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She is preceded by her husband Joe and her sister Betty Bingen.
Funeral services will 6PM Monday, January 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Rev. James Ernster will officiate. Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Waubeka. Family will receive friends from 4-6PM Monday at the funeral home.
