Shirley M. Greisch, age 63, of Port Washington, WI; passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 18, 2020 from a sudden heart attack at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI.

She was born on October 1, 1956 in Port Washington; daughter of Donald and Anita Kringel Franzen.  She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1974.

On February 11, 1978, Shirley married Jeff Greisch of Port Washington at St. Paul’s Church in Grafton.  Shirley was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandma.  Over the years she worked at the Portal Industries and Target in Grafton.  She may be remembered working at the deli at Port Washington’s Sentry Foods.  Recently she had become more involved with her mom’s care.  She always made time for others that needed help or a compassionate ear.

Shirley loved to spend her time in her flower gardens, watching and attending Brewer games, building puzzles and spending time, in person and virtually, with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Jeff, her children Heather (Jason) Godersky of Grafton, Bryan (Jessica) Greisch of Port Washington, Jason (Tricia) Greisch of Menasha, Shawn (fiancé Tianna Buslaff) Greisch of Eden and Rachael (Donald ) Hasby of Hartford; grandchildren Hailey, Logan, Katelyn, Deztynie, Landon, Jaycee and Isaac; her mom Anita Franzen of Grafton, who passed away April 27, 2021; her sisters Sharon Franzen and Susan Franzen both of Grafton; her brothers Steve Franzen of Cedarburg and Stuart (Wendy) Franzen of Saukville and sister-in-law Jean Franzen of Fredonia.  Shirley is further survived by Jeff’s parents James and Jennie Greisch, his sisters Jill (Gary) Wuestenhagen and Judy (Rob) Deuhring and his brother Joel (Wendy) Greisch, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father Donald Franzen, her brother Scott Franzen and her brother-in-law James “Jimmy” Greisch.

A memorial service will be held 5 pm Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Poole Funeral Home. Visitation from 3 pm to 5 pm Friday, June 11, 2021 prior to the service. Pastor Scott Kruse of St. Paul Lutheran, Grafton will preside.

  1. So very sad to hear that Shirley has passed away. She baby sat my son over 30 years ago and she still remembered me when she worked at Sentry. Such a wonderful person. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. This was heartbreaking to hear. Deepest sympathies to the family. She’ll always be “Shawn’s mom” to me, but always remember her at the Sentry deli with Rachel. A kind smile and a “hi!” whenever i was over helping Shawn with a boat.
