LaVerne Godersky, 81, of N Benjamin Street, Port Washington died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Vitas Hospice Care Center in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

She was born September 4, 1926 in Port Washington to George J. and Marcella Grasser Schultz.  As a young woman she worked for the Telephone Company.  She married James E. Godersky of Port Washington on August 4, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and worked as a clerk for the former Leiders Drug Store for many years and also at Sabel’s Menswear and Anchor Menswear.  James preceded her in death July 25, 2001.  LaVerne loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

LaVerne is survived by her children Mike (Ingrid) Godersky and Kim (Joe) Buczek both of Port Washington, her grandchildren Jaime (Nikki) Godersky, Jason (Heather) Godersky, Julie Godersky, JJ Buczek and Tyler Buczek.  Further survived by great grandchildren Ali Godersky and Charles Godersky, brother Steven (Alice) Schultz of Random Lake, Wisconsin, sister Kathy Nickel of Saukville, other relatives and friends.  Preceded by her husband Jim, parents George and Marcella Schultz, stepmom Margaret Schultz and three infant brothers Donald, Arlin and George Schultz.

Fr. Patrick Wendt will celebrate a Memorial Mass 7 pm Thursday, August 28, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 430 N Johnson Street, Port Washington.  Interment Allouez Catholic Cemetery, Green Bay, Wisconsin.  Visitation 5:30 to 7 pm Thursday at St. Mary’s Church.  Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society appreciated.
