Mattie L. Fleischmann, age 82, formerly of West Norport Drive, Port Washington, WI passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington where she had resided the past few years.

She was born on May 16, 1936 in Laurinburg, NC, daughter of John and Mary “Magaline” Clark Smith. She attended local schools. On June 29, 1958, Mattie married William L. “Bill” Fleischmann from Milwaukee in Laurinburg, NC. Bill was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC serving in the Army. Together they moved to Port Washington in 1960.

Mattie was a proud wife, mom and grandma. An active family in the sport of Wrestling, she was their cheerleader and support.

Over the years, Mattie worked at Tecumseh Manufacturing in Grafton, Kleen Test Products in Port Washington and at the Port Washington High School. She kept the books for her husband’s custom rod and reel production and repair business for many years. Mattie actively participated with the Port Washington Lions Club with Bill. She enjoyed making her house a home with her TLC in her flower garden and house plants.

Mattie is survived by her three sons, Leonard (Keri) Fleischmann of Lake Church, Jeffrey (Jill) Fleischmann and William J. (Ann) Fleischmann, both of Port Washington, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters Mary (Harry) Dwyer and Rosie (the late Ray) Lewis and her brother Ronnie Smith, all of Laurinburg, NC; brother-in-law Tom (Karen) Fleischmann of Plymouth, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill on January 28, 2013, her daughter Joyce Fleischmann and her brothers Bobbie and James Smith.

Memorial funeral services 11AM Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the POOLE FUNERAL HOME/Crematory, 203 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI. The Rev. Tom Fleischmann will officiate. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Port Washington, WI.
