BuserLouiseMrs. Louise A. Buser, (nee Arendt), age 93, beloved wife of the late Mr. Arthur L. Buser, peacefully passed away in her long-time home in the town of Port Washington, Wisconsin on Saturday night, January 26, 2013.

Louise was born May 10, 1919 in Dacada, Wisconsin, daughter of Nic and Elizabeth Keller Arendt. She completed high school in Port Washington. Louise married Staff Sargent Arthur, of Baileyville, Kansas, on January 9, 1943 in Dacada, Wisconsin at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Family and friends remember her as a joyful wife, mother, and homemaker.

She sought to enrich the broader community, such as through her involvement in organizations, including the Holy Cross Christian Mothers Society and the Women’s Auxiliary of the EMBA. Her generous volunteering included with the Good Samaritan Guild at St. Alphonsus Hospital. For over 20 years, Louise served as an election inspector for the town of Port Washington. In recent years, she enjoyed being an active member of the Port Washington Senior Center as an avid sheepshead player, knitting and crocheting with Chicks with Sticks, participating in their aquatics program, creating ceramics, and socializing at senior dining. This past year she served as a representative of the honored Arendt family in the Luxembourg American Cultural Society’s heritage festival in Belgium, Wisconsin.

She is survived by her children Charles Buser of Shelton, Washington; Elizabeth Buser of Denver, Colorado; Rosie Buser of Oshkosh; Mary Buser of the Town of Port Washington; Lucy (John) Christopoulos of Port Washington; Monica (Mark) Kubiske of Stevens Point; and Arthur Jr. (Pam) Buser of Park City, Utah; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her brother Robert (the late Helen) Arendt of Shawano, many foster children, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her children Anne Buser, Fr. James Buser, and Timothy Buser and siblings Orville (the late Lucille) Arendt, Vern (the late Myra) Arendt, Donald (the late Mary Jane) Arendt, Emily (the late Ray) Schueller, and Gladys (the late Fred) Hagel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Divine Savior Parish-Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County B, Belgium (Holy Cross). Reverend Guy Gurath and Reverend James Ernster will concelebrate. Visitation will be from 9-11am Saturday at church with a 9 am Rosary. Interment in parish cemetery.   Memorials are suggested to St. Ben’s Community Meal Program, 1015 N Ninth Street, Milwaukee, WI 53223, run for a number of years by Capuchins.
