WernerBettyBetty J. Werner, 69, of Sandy Beach Road in the town of Belgium died June 14, 2007 at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington, Wisconsin.

She was born November 24, 1937 in West Bend, Wisconsin to Arthur and Gladys Unch Troedel.  She married Barry Werner, the love of her life, on May 25, 1957 at St. Francis Cabrini Church in West Bend, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death October 18, 1997.

Betty will be remembered as the consummate hostess.  Always making sure that everyone was taken care of.  She began working at the Port Hotel over 30 years ago as a waitress and later she was the hostess.  She loved taking care of her people, even if you didn’t have a reservation, she would make room for you with the most special table in the place.  It wasn’t a job for Betty, it was a social event.  Betty  also loved to dress up and had a pair of earings that perfectly matched every outfiit she owned.  She was a member of St. Mary’s  Church in Belgium and served as a Eucharistic Minister there.  Even in her final days she was an inspiration in strength, kindness and dignity, which her family will hold dearly in their hearts.  She will be missed by many, but “Bear” has been waiting to go dancing again.

She is survived by her children Maxine (Bill) Bowles of Belgium, Max Werner of Random Lake, Marty (Brenda) Werner of Belgium and Matt Werner of Port Washington.  She was a proud grandma to Meagan and Alicia Bowles, Nathan, Carisa, Katie, Joshua, Matthew and Mollie Werner.  Further survived by sisters Audrey (Jim) Melchert of Missouri, Patsy (Marty) Schmidt of Plymouth, Leone Hagner, Carol Grissman, Mary Schneider and Susie (Steve) Johnson all of West Bend; mother-in-law Helen Werner and Sister-law Pat (Willie) Krainz both of Port Washington; other relatives and many friends.  Preceded in death by her husband and a brother Arthur Troedel, Jr.

Rev. Jim Vojtik will officiate funeral services 7 pm Monday, June 18, 2007 at the funeral home.  Cremation with final interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lake Church.  Visitation from 4 – 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
