Ezra G. St. Peter, 100, formerly of Holden Street in Port Washington, Wisconsin died January 10, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

He was born June 14, 1914 in Hermansville, Michigan to Fred and Sadie Wood St. Peter. He grew up on Grand Avenue. When he finished school he began work at JE Gilson foundry until the fire. He then started at Heatwole Foundry working in the shipping department as a truck driver. He also drove the city bus and was proud of having a chauffeur’s license.

He met the love of his life, Josephine Tutas, while working at the Gilson Foundry. They married April 22, 1939 in Milwaukee. Together they made their home on Holden Street and although they had no children of their own, they showered affection on their nieces and nephews. They enjoyed traveling especially to Florida and Arizona. They were married for 70 years and were together every day. When Josie was diagnosed with Alzheimers and had to move to Heritage Nursing Home, Ezra took her ice cream every day. She preceded him in death October 31, 2009.

Throughout his life Ezra was a very social man. He enjoyed tinkering and was a good mechanic. He even liked to garden a bit. In 2012 he moved from his Holden Street home to Belgium Gardens and could often be seen motoring around in his wheelchair. On his 100th birthday, he got well wishes from the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Willard Scott and even President Obama. He was a kind man who always had a memory and smile to share.

He is survived by his nephew John St. Peter of Belgium and niece Barbara (Jack) Casper of Phoenix, Arizona. Further survived by great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded by his wife Josephine and brother Clarence St. Peter.

The Reverend Thomas Fleischmann officiated funeral services Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Poole Funeral Home. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
