John C. Simons, 56, of N. 17th Street, Milwaukee died at his residence June 22, 2009.

He was born November 21, 1952 in Port Washington, Wisconsin to Leon F. Mary Ann Smith Simons.  The family moved to Cedarburg and Saukville before settling in on Moore Road, Port Washington.  John felt fortunate he grew up in a small town and had “Small Town Values”.

After graduating from Port Washington High School he earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and also Associate Degrees from MATC in Paralegal, Commercial and Residential Property Management and Desktop Publishing.   He worked for the Posner Building, a downtown Milwaukee office building as assistant property manager and as an office manager for Parkview Property Management, Milwaukee.  Early on he worked as a theatrical stage technician at Midwest Scenic and Stage Company, Milwaukee. Midwest renovated the stages of the Pabst Theatre, Helfaer Theatre on Marquette campus and the Riverside Theatre amongst others.  He was an avid downhill skier & had worked at Keystone, Copper and Breckenridge Mountains in Colorado.

In 2003, he became disabled and spent much of his time and passion designing digital abstract art on his computer.  He also loved photography.  His sister would say he couldn’t draw a stickman, but on a computer he could do some amazing things.  He is scheduled to have an art showing at a Milwaukee Art Gallery in July.  He was pretty good at playing the guitar and enjoying strawberry schaum torte.

He is survived by his sisters Nancy (Tom) Stehlik of Pensacola, Florida and Sharon (Dick) Zahn of Port Washington, Wisconsin.  Further survived by nieces and nephews Michael (Leigh) Stehlik of Tallahassee, Florida, Jim (Kelly) Stehlik of Carmel, Indiana and Julie (Butch) Arendt of the Town of Port Washington, other  relatives and friends.  Preceded by his parents and a brother, Jeffrey Simons.
