Henrietta J. Philipps, 88, of County Trunk KW in the Town of Port Washington died November 10, 2005 at Heritage Health And Rehabilitation Center, Port Washington.
She was born June 24, 1917 to Frank and Clara Kramer Erlwig in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. SHe married Fredrick B. “Fritz” Philipps on June 27, 1936 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. He preceded her in death May 3, 2005.
She worked at former High Bar in Knellsville on Friday Fish Fry’s, then at Spraque Industries in Grafton and at the former Schils Bakery, Franklin Street, Port Washington. She was a cook at St. Peter’s School for many years and active with the parish priests helping them out around the rectory.
Henrietta was active with St. Peter’s Ladies Guild and funeral luncheon organizer throughout the 1970’s-1980’s and the Homemakers Club. Enjoyed playing cards, especially canasta. She loved to bake and can foods for family and friends.
She is survived by her 9 ChildrenNorman (Carol) Philipps of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, Lloyd (Marilyn) Philipps of California, LeRoy “Butch” (the late Darlene) Philipps of Bloomer, Wisconsin, Fredrick “Fritz” (Gale) Philipps of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Deanne (Paul) Gallun of Newburg, Wisconsin, Judy Johnson of Port Washington, Wisconsin, the late Jill Smith, Marilyn Barsch of Port Washington, Wisconsin and Kenneth Philipps of Colorado. Further survived by 29 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, sister Bernice Hauswirth of Fredonia, Wisconsin, other relatives and friends. Preceded by her husband, Fritz; daughter Jill Smith, grandchildren Jeffrey, Steven, Peter & Chris and a brother Norman Erlwig.
The Rev. Pat Wendt will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial 7 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington. Interment parish cemetery. Visitation from 4 – 7 pm Wednesday at church with a 4 pm rosary. Memorials appreciated.
