Charles D. “Charlie” Ott, of Highway A, town of Belgium, Wisconsin died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, Milwaukee after a nine and a half month fight with leukemia.
He was born June 24, 1951 in Port Washington to Joseph and Alice Karrels Ott. He graduated Ozaukee High School in 1970. He met Vicky Barclay Brooks of Port Washington and they were married October 30, 1976 in Port Washington. He farmed with his wife and family in the Town of Belgium. Always hard working and tending to the farm, he enjoyed wrenching and tinkering with anything mechanical. He will be remembered to be able to fix just about anything. From his youth he built old cars and vehicles, sometimes for next to nothing. He collected Fords of all ages and spent many family outings at the Kaukauna and Union Grove drag strips.
He is survived by his wife Vicky (nee Barclay), daughters Billie Joe (Alley Valter) of Port Washington, Theresa (Ed) Ruszkiewicz of Green Bay, Sarah (Matt Winker) of Fredonia, Laura (Brad) Arndt of Dacada and son Charles Ott Jr. of Belgium, his parents Alice and Joe Ott of the Town of Belgium, his sister Carol (Dick) Schatzer of Antigo, brothers Dennis (Tina) Ott of Fredonia and Joe (Clare) Ott of Belgium, eight grandchildren, Spencer, Rebecca, Emma, Brooke, Madeline, Mikayla, Bailey and Lola, mother-in-law Dolly Barclay of Port Washington, and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:30PM Sunday April 24 at Holy Rosary Parish-Holy Cross Chapel, Holy Cross, Town of Belgium. Revs. Richard Fleischman and James Ernster will be the celebrants. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5:45PM at the Poole Funeral Home, 203 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington.
Memorials to the Leukemia Society appreciated or make a donation of blood or platelets.
