Melvin “Ole” Olson, 72, of West Barry Avenue, Port Washington, WI died at his home January 24, 2019.
He was born July 14, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Melvin A. and Ruth A. Hensel Olson. He served in the United States Navy in Hawaii. While there he met Susan McClellan and they were married February 14, 1970 in Hawaii.
In the late 1980’s they moved to West Barry Avenue in Port Washington, WI. He worked in telecommunications as a field service engineer for Verint and travelled the world extensively. Ole loved his role as husband, father and grandfather and spent as much time as he could with his family. He liked working with electronics and his gadgets. He also enjoyed being in the kitchen, baking pies, cooking up delicious meals and being a grill master.
He is survived by his wife Susan, children Michael (Karen) Olson of Fredonia, WI and Sarah Olson of Port Washington, WI and his granddaughter Genevieve Olson. He is further survived by his siblings Richard Olson of Olympia, WA, Pat Krueger of Fargo, ND and Steven (Vera) Olson of Lacey, WA, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tommy Olson.
Family services have been held with final interment in Hawaii.
