Margaret “Maggie” Noel, 82 of Parknoll Lane, Port Washington died December 28, 2003 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital – Ozaukee Campus in Mequon.
She was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on October 6, 1921 to Joseph and Angelina Boyer Noel. She worked for Medicare in Milwaukee in its infancy, 3 years in Billing Department and then worked at the former John doyne Hospital (now Milwaukee County Medical Complex) in Radiology, Cardiology and Public Relations offices retiring in 1983. She was the former coordinator of the John Doyne Hospital Preemie Friends and while there she worked with the director of Volunteer Services to give her a start of many years of helping others. In 1992 she moved from her home in Wauwatosa to Port Washington. Maggie was very active in volunteerism and was the first volunteer coordinator for Interfaith Caregivers. Aside from Interfaith Maggie was affiliated with several organizations holding positions in them. She was a past president of VFW Auxiliary Post 920, Wauwatosa, VFW 5th District Ladies Drill Team National Champions 1953, former director of Badgerland Drum and Bugle Corps. and the former editor and publisher of Badgerland News. Maggie also served as a former church secretary for Trinity Episcopal Church, Wauwatosa and St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church, Port Washington in addition to being a member and past secretary for Port Washington Womens Club.
She is survived by her children Gene Pawlowski of Bloomington, Illinois, Allen “AJ” (Cynthia) Pawlowski of Tucson, Arizona and Margaret “Peggy” (Gerald) Cinch of Charleston, South Carolina. She was grandmother to Michael (Laura) and Kent Pawlowski, Furman (Peggy Lynn) Reynolds IV and Brian (Adelyn) Kellahan. She is further survived by sisters, Bernadette Wilson of Stelle, Illinois and Janet Engberg of Galena, Ohio. A sister Dorothy Greenwood preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM Saturday January 31, 2004 at St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church, 3448 N Green Bay Road, Port Washington. Family will recieve friends after the service. Interment in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette, Wisconsin. Memorials to St. Simon, the Food Pantry or Interfaith Caregivers appreciated.
