Philip J., “Phil” Moertl, age 62, of St. Francis, formerly of PORT WASHINGTON, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee after a brief stay.

He was born on July 26, 1950, son of Harold and Janet Mentink Moertl in Port Washington.  He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1969.  Over the years he had provided care for his parents when they lived on South High Street, Port Washington.  He had worked for numerous restaurants such as Harry’s in Port Washington and the Grafton Hotel years ago.  He moved to Milwaukee after 2001 and worked at a few different restaurants there.  For the past few years he resided on South Packard Avenue in St. Francis.

Phil will be remembered for his caring demeanor and sense of humor.  He enjoyed being social on his cell phone; chatting up with friends.

He is survived by his sister Mary Prom of Sheboygan, niece Amy Prom of Sheboygan, nephews Jeremy and Andrew Prom of Plymouth and Robert (Kelly) Prom Jr. of Oostburg, brother-in-law Robert Prom Sr. of Plymouth; other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services NOON Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the POOLE FUNERAL HOME, 203 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington.  The Reverend David Guse of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Port Washington will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10AM-Noon Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.  Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
