William C. Melsheimer, age 71, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; formerly of Milwaukee, Atlanta and Dallas, passed away peacefully Friday, May 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born on June 18, 1949 at Fort Monmouth, NJ and grew up in Milwaukee.  In elementary school he met the love of his life, though they just didn’t know it yet.  After attending different high schools, Bill and his bride, Carol G. Michaels married at St. Sebastian Church in Milwaukee on August 29, 1970.

Bill attended Milwaukee Area Technical College and Marquette University and worked at the University to pay for his tuition.  Bill and Carol moved to Atlanta for work, later moving to the Dallas area.  They returned to Wisconsin in 2018.  Bill worked at  Countrywide Mortgage, Bank of America and Transamerica in the Real Estate Tax Division; retiring in 2014.

Bill was very smart and organized; clever and witty.  He loved trivia.  Very sports minded, he enjoyed bowling and volleyball and especially golf.

Bill and Carol just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  He will be missed.

Surviving Bill are his wife Carol; his siblings Candice (the late Michael) Kostowicz and Suzanne (John) Jackson both of Cudahy, Richard (Lois) Melsheimer of Logan, IA, Roxanne Melsheimer of Clementon, NJ, Barbara Melsheimer and Patrick Melsheimer, both of Milwaukee; he is further survived by his brother-in-law Calvin (the late Patrice) Comparin; Carol’s siblings Patricia (David) Bauman of Manitowoc, Nancy (Mark) D’Amico of Minnetonka, MN, Kevin Michaels of Milwaukee, Roger Michaels of Menomonee Falls, Dan (the late Linda Sue) Michaels, and Keith (Julie) Michaels both of Whitewater, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his and Carol’s parents and his sister-in-law Sandra Michaels.

Memorial services will be held at 3PM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the funeral home.  Family will receive relatives and friends from 1-3PM prior to services.
