Large, Daniel W., Sr.

Daniel W. Large, Sr., age 84, formerly of Colonial Parkway in Saukville, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital – Ozaukee in Mequon.

He was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 27, 1938 to John Edward and Ruth Evalina Schuman Large.

On June 27, 1959, Dan married Carol L. Jakubic of Lannon at St. James Catholic Church in Lannon.

A truck driver by trade, Dan drove for many local motor transport companies over the years.  He had been a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 200 of Milwaukee.

In 1970, the Large family moved to Saukville.

Upon retirement of both Dan and his wife, they enjoyed travel and fishing together.  Winters in Arizona and travel to Florida and even Alaska were some of the places shared.  An avid outdoorsman, Dan enjoyed cheering his favorite teams, the Brewers and Packers.  Quiet times might be spent wood carving.

Carol preceded him in death after 58 years of marriage on June 17, 2017.

Dan is survived by his children Dan (Lori) Large of Port Washington and Debra Klein of Saukville, his grandchildren Amelia “Molly” and Jessy Klein and Olivia and Nolan Large, his sister Lois Letizia of Sun City, AZ and Beverly (Henry) Steel of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

No funeral services will be held. A family gathering will take place in the future.
