Kruke, Helene

Helene Kruke, 93, formerly of W. Michigan Street in Port Washington died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington where she had been a resident since May.

She was born October 16, 1916 in Port Washington to Gottlieb and Elizabeth Boger Gunther.  She graduated from Port Washington High School and Sheboygan Business College.  On June 22, 1946 she married Ruben C. Kruke of the town of Grafton at Friedens Church in Port Washington.  Helene worked at the former Chair Factory and later was a bookkeeper in the personnel department at the former Bolens Manufacturing Company in Port Washington.  She retired after 30 years of bookkeeping.

She is survived by her niece Nancy Bodenstein, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ruben on March 16, 1993, and infant brother, Carl and a sister Rose Bodenstein.

Pastor Brandon Lemons will officiate funeral services 3 pm Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N Milwaukee Street, Port Washington.  Interment Union Cemetery.  Visitation 2 – 3 pm Saturday at church.  Memorials to Friedens Evangelical Church appreciated.
