JushkaAnnaRAnna Ruth Jushka (nee Conrad), 90, of Port Washington was called home to the Lord on January 13, 2013.  She was born in Port Washington on September 30, 1922 to Nicolas B. and Louisa Doppel Conrad.  She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and Port Washington High School.  On May 22, 1943, she traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska to marry Anthony J. Jushka of Port Washington, who was serving in the Army at the time.  He preceded her in death in 1988.

Ruth attended nursing school in Illinois, and was a nurse’s aide at the former St. Alphonsus Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1984.  She spent 30 years working in the maternity ward and five years on the orthopedics floor.

Ruth was a loving mother and will be deeply missed by her sons, Paul (Carol) Jushka of Sussex, Peter (Marilyn) Jushka of Batavia, IL, Richard (Susan) Jushka of Port Washington and Thomas Jushka of Waukesha and her daughters Pamela (Philip) Westfahl of Port Washington and Mary Pat (Lindley) Eshleman of Littelton, CO.

She was the cherished grandmother of Chris (Andrea) Jushka, Jeffrey (Amanda) Juska, Michelle Jushka, Rebecca (Chris) Ledbetter, Eric (Nicole) Jushka, Gayle Westfahl, Courtney Westfahl, Nicole (Daniel) DeYarman, Rachael (Tom) Carter, Crystal Jushka, Alexandra Eshleman, Evan Eshleman, Natalie Jushka, and Aaron Jushka.  Ruth is also survived by 14 great- grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Elaine Conrad of Barrington, IL, Antoinette “Toni” Conrad of CA, Charlotte Jushka of Port Washington and Jackie Jushka of Port Washington, several nieces and nephews, other relative and friends.

Besides her parents and her husband Anthony, she is preceded in death by her three brothers Richard Conrad, Walter Conrad and Eugene Conrad.

The Reverend Patrick Wendt will celebrate a Memorial Mass of Chrisitan Burial 1 pm Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.  Memorials to the Port Washington Senior Center or W.J. Niederkorn Library appreciated.
