Hein, Richard L.

Richard L. “Dick” Hein, age 77, of Grafton, WI, formerly of West Allis, WI passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Aurora Health Center in Grafton due to acute health issues.

He was born on March 9, 1943 in Milwaukee; son of Clarence and Margaret Hooper Hein.  Dick served in the Army during the Vietnam War.  Upon his return home, Dick lived and worked most of his life in West Allis.  For many years, Dick did maintenance work for the West Allis/West Milwaukee School District, retiring in 2007.

On May 31, 1991, Dick married Nicki Kellermann Gerber.  They more recently moved to Grafton in 2017.  A past member of the Masonic Lodge, Dick also enjoyed fishing and woodworking over the years.

He is survived by his wife Nicki, his daughter Dawn Adams of West Allis, their  sons Matthew (Amy) Gerber of Green Bay, Adam (Jennifer) Gerber of Grafton and Aaron (Carey) Gerber of Lithia, FL.  He is further survived by seven grandchildren Nicole, Samantha, Autumn, Ashlyn, Reagan, Daniel and Madeleine, his mother-in-law Lenora Kellermann, other relatives and friends.  Dick is preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law Warren Kellermann.

Dick’s family would like to extend a huge thank you to the health care workers at Aurora Grafton, third floor west for taking excellent care of Dick. Their hard work and kindness will not be forgotten.

Family services have been held.
