Jerry F. Hartl, 77, formerly of South Grand Avenue, Waukesha, died peacefully Wed. November 15, 2006 at Harbor Cove in Port Washington where he had been a resident the past four years.
He was born November 24, 1928 in Fifield, Wisconsin to Matthew and Anna Machacek Hartl. He graduated from Fifield High Schoolin 1946 and later entered the military. From November 6, 1955 to November 5, 1959, Jerry served in the Air Force and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. During this time he was a flight engineer in an Alaskan assignment providing land, sea and ice rescues throughout the North in a SA-16 rescue aircraft.
On August 11, 1962 he married Elizabeth “Betty” Huntington of Waukesha in Waukesha. There they lived for many years. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1998. Jerry worked for the Alloy Products Company as a machinist for over 26 years.
He is survived by his sister Blanche Kabella of Modesto, CA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty, a sister Anne Miller and brothers-in-law Tony Miller and George Kabella. Funeral services held with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield, Wisconsin with military honors by the American Legion.
