Joseph Greiveldinger, 83, of West Monroe Street, Port Washington, WI died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital- Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI.
He was born on November 7, 1926, son of Joseph John and Catherine Wilmes Greiveldinger on the family farm in the Town of Port Washington. A lifelong resident of Port Washington, Joe married Shirley Poull of Port Washington on June 23, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.
Over the years, he had driven truck for the former Muehlberg Excavation of Port Washington and then was a machinist for Milwaukee Machine Products from which he retired from in 1991. He had served as a City of Port Washington alderman for the seventh district from 1969 to 1971. He enjoyed years of membership to the Saukville Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of 47 years, his children Joseph Gerard Greiveldinger of Marietta, GA; Robert Poull Greiveldinger of Port Washington and Anne Frances (Andrew) Vauk of Round Lake, IL; his grandchildren Conner, Jocelyn and Alexis Vauk; his sister Mae (Gary) Buettner of Oshkosh, Sisters-in-law Lucille (the late Elmer) Greiveldinger of Port Washington, LuCele (the late Marv) Sabel of Arizona City, AZ and Phyllis (the late Ralph) Swatek of Cedarburg. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph John and Catherine Wilmes Greiveldinger and a brother Elmer Greiveldinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. The Reverend Patrick Wendt will be the celebrant. A visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM Thursday AT CHURCH with an 11AM rosary. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall.
