French, Clara

Clara B. French, 85, formerly of Oak Court and Anita’s Garden both in Port Washington, Wisconsin died April 16, 2010 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

She was February 28, 1925 in Claytonia, Nebraska to Frank and Clara Heinz Berry. She grew up in Scotts Bluff, Nebraskaand moved to Omaha, Nebraska during World War Two. She married Melvin French of Stapleton, Nebraska on February 14, 1943 in Harrisburg, Nebraska. She was an awesome cook, whose recipes are well traveled into the next generation of the family. Her husband Melvin preceded her in death in March of 1992. She came to Port Washington, Wisconsin in April of 2005.

Clara is survived by her children Mary (Robert) Grzanka of Port Washington and F. Dennis French of Council Bluff, Iowa. Further survived by four grandchildren Adrienne (Bill) Farnsworth of Omaha, Nebraska, Alicia (Brent Rexford) Grzanka of Fox Lake, Illinois, Jessica (Josh) Arnow of Woodstock, Illinois and Mackenzie French – Council Bluff, Iowa, two Great Grandchildren Lyla and Jackson Arnow, Other relatives and friends.

Family services have been held.
