Robert A. “Bob” Dickmann, age 87, of the town of Saukville, Wisconsin peacefully passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home.

He was born on February 18, 1933 in Saukville, son of Frederick “Fritz” and Marcella Kuhn Dickmann Sr. His parents owned and operated Dickmann’s Bar on the triangle in Saukville of which they lived upstairs. As a young man, Bob drove truck for Bolens Manufacturing of Port Washington. From March 1953 to March 1955, Bob served in the United States Army with the rank of Corporal during the Korean War.

On September 5, 1959, Bob married his sweetheart Geraldine R. “Jerrie” Quade. He started his electrical career with ElRoy Schreiner as an apprentice. Later becoming an electrician for the former Brophy-Miller Electric of Port Washington, which became Miller Electric, retiring in 1995 after over 35 years. Throughout southeastern Wisconsin, Bob’s initials “R.A.D.” exist in electrical panels by the thousands. Bob was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494.

Throughout the years, Bob played horseshoes and baseball with family and friends and was recognized by the Saukville Saints Baseball as their proud supporter a few years ago. He was a member with the Saukville Fire Department and the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 of Saukville for many years. From building maintenance, Legion Camp and Bingo, Bob was involved with many Legion activities. He was also the town of Saukville Electrical Inspector for many years.

Bob and his family were active with their church, St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, now Parkside Community United Church of Christ in Saukville.

Bob was handy, helpful and always would lend a hand. He loved spending summers up north on White Potato Lake and winters in North Fort Myers, Florida. Quite the social personality, he always knew someone wherever he went. Anywhere!

Most important was his love for his wife and family. He was a proud Dad, and more so “Bopa” to the grandkids. He took great pride in his yard, his home and his garden. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his two daughters Sue (Doug) Dickmann Kempema and Lynn (Steve) Beck, both of the town of Saukville; his grandchildren Chad (Missy) Erlwig, Bryce Erlwig, Kaitlyn (Brady Watry) Beck, Abbey (Andrew Hein) Beck, Eli and Ethan Kempema; his sister Kay (Al) Karrels of Saukville; sister-in-law Joanne (Ron) Blanchard of Mission Viejo, CA; brother-in-law Walter J. “Wally” (Kathy) Quade of Fredonia; family friend Lisa Poole, his canine pal Mollie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
