BurmeschJuliannaJulianna “Juli” V. Burmesch, 87, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2012 at the Harbor Club in Port Washington.  She was born in the Town of Port Washington on September 7, 1924, daughter of Phillip and Anna (Meyer) Karrels.

She was united in marriage to Wilfred J. “Wiff” Burmesch on May 29, 1946.  She was employed at Tecumseh Products for 18 years, retiring in 1986.  She then enjoyed many retirement years babysitting for children outside the family and caring for her grandchildren.  Little things made Juli happy.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and especially spending time with her family.  She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church in Port Washington and was active in the Christian Mothers during her earlier years.  She is preceded in death by her husband Wilfred on May 27, 2012.

Juli is survived by her son Dennis (Barbara) Burmesch of Port Washington, son Kenneth (Mary Jo) Burmesch of Port Washington, daughter Gail (Jan) Bartz of Shawano; son Gary (Kathy) Burmesch of Port Washington; daughter Karen Genovese of Las Vegas, NV and daughter Sharon (Dan) Bolz of Random Lake; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Further survived by sister Betty Skebba of Cedarburg;  brothers Leo Karrels of Port Washington and Milton (Jean) Karrels of Altoona, FL; sisters-in-law Mary Hicks of Oconomowoc, Lorena Burmesch of Saukville and Mary Helen Burmesch of Belgium; brother-in-law Gerald (Judy) Burmesch of Ogdensburg, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by sister Sally (Warren) Krueger, infant sister Margie Karrels, brothers-in-law Clarence (Sidonia), Roman (Esther), Richard, Donald and infant Alexander Burmesch, Wayne Skebba, and John Hicks and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Jean Karrels.

Rev. Thomas Lijewski will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial 6 pm Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic church, 430 N Johnson Street, Port Washington.  Visitation will be from 2:30-6 pm Thursday AT CHURCH with a 2:30 pm rosary.  Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.  In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established through St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Harbor Club.  Special thanks to Carrie and Jessie from Home Instead for their tender loving care and concern for Juli.
