Brinovec, Judith S.

Judith S. Brinovec, age 84, of County Road KK in the town of Port Washington, WI  died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI.

She was born March 25, 1938 in Milwaukee to Norman and Elizabeth Rebholz Leonhard.  She met the love of her life, John Brinovec and married him.  They moved to the town of Port Washington in 1970 and spent many wonderful years there raising their family and celebrating 56 years of marriage.  John preceded her in death on October 19, 2011.

Judy was an independent, creative and talented woman.  She received a patent in 1968 for a way of sewing waistbands into skirts and was a catalog model for Harley Davidson.  Judy enjoyed drawing, painting and wood carving.  She received several awards from Wood Carver Magazine and was also recognized in local papers for her wonderful carved wood ornaments.

For many years she worked at the Port Youth Center.  She was the best horse show mom and even learned how to drive a pony and cart.  Her smile was infectious and she made many friends through the years.

Judy is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Bob Nieves) Brinovec of Grafton, her sister Joan Medema, nephew Don (Sandy) Medema and niece Michelle Medema, all of Michigan, other relatives and many friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, her son John and her sister Grace Retzlaff.

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the Poole Funeral Home, 203 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI.  Visitation from 11 am to Noon at the funeral home.  Interment Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
