Myra M. Arendt, 86, Niesen Road in Port Washington died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin.

She was born April 1, 1926 in Port Washington, Wisconsin to Frank and Cecelia Demge Niederkorn.  After high school she attended Marquette University and received her Journalism degree in 1948.  Myra married Vern Arendt of Dacada, Wisconsin on October 19, 1957 at St. Mary’s Church in Port Washington.  Through the years she was active with Portal Industries in Grafton and enjoyed prairie gardening.

She is survived by her husband Vern and sons Sam and Christopher Arendt, all of Port Washington.  Further survived by sisters Cecelia Schanen and Annette Niederkorn, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her sister Marvel Foley and daughter-in-law Betty Arendt.

The Reverend Patrick Wendt will celebrate a Memorial Mass 6 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1802 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington.  Interment parish cemetery.  Visitation 4 – 6 pm Wednesday AT CHURCH.  Memorials of choice appreciated.
