Brenda A. Addy, age 60, of Cascade, Wisconsin and formerly of Jacksonville, Illinois passed away peacefully at home with her family on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
She was born on March 16, 1962 in Springfield, IL; daughter of John and Dorthy Dietrich Brooks. Brenda grew up in Jacksonville, graduating from Routt High School, class of 1980. Upon graduating from Illinois College in Jacksonville with a degree in accounting, Brenda worked in St. Louis, later taking a job with Charter Steel Manufacturing in Saukville, WI.
On September 28, 1991, Brenda married Tom Addy of Port Washington, WI at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They would later move to their family hobby farm in Cascade.
Love of nature would provide the backdrop for Brenda’s home. She loved to garden and tend to her chickens and sheep. A bumper crop of tomatoes would be expected every year. Brenda was very creative and an avid scrapbooker. Most important to her was family time spent throughout the year.
She is survived by her husband Tom; her daughters Emma and Amy Addy, both of Sheboygan and Mary Addy of Cascade; grandsons Andrew and Aron Addy, her mom Dorthy Brooks, foster children Sydney, Stephen, Nate, Jon and Alexis, exchange student Cake, her sister Barbara (Jeff) Atwood of Port Charlotte, FL, her two brothers Robert (Kelli) Brooks of Jacksonville and Bradley (Laura) Brooks of Lincoln, IL, Tom’s sisters Alice (Michael) Hamilton, Mary (Elmer) Neuens and Terry Addy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father John Brooks, her grandparents, Tom’s parents and his sisters Barb Schwartz and JoAnn Pagel.
Family services and interment have been held at the Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona, WI.
