Diane R. Smith, age 73, of Lincoln Village, Port Washington, WI passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Aurora Health Center in Grafton.

She was born on June 7, 1944 in Port Washington; daughter of Harold and Mae “Dolly” Schultz Schwengel. Diane graduated from Port Washington High School, later a graduate of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee.

On September 11, 1965, Diane married DeVerne R. Smith of West Bend in Port Washington. For a time, Diane worked as a route driver for the United States Postal Service. Together they started a family, living many years on Theis Lane in Port Washington.

Diane taught piano for many years and enjoyed her music. She was a church pianist and active with local singing musical groups and choir. She took great care of her family and was active at Lincoln Village.

Diane is survived by her husband DeVerne, her daughter Mindi Sharbuno; her grandchildren Kristi Pinter, Kyle Sharbuno, Kyler, Joshua and Austin Smith; great-grandchildren Karlie, Brady, Abigail, Maverick and Avery, her sister Jeanne (Tom) Brockley of Chattanooga, TN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Kory Smith and her parents.

A celebration of Diane’s life will take place at 3PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Open Door Bible Church, 3420 County LL, Port Washington, WI. Pastor Jim Engelman will officiate. Family will receive friends from 1-3PM AT CHURCH Wednesday prior to services.

    I am saddened for your lost. Your mother was a kind and loving woman who shared it not only with your family but so many others.
    I thank all of you for the kindness that you have always shared with Todd. Todd has always loved your family
