Schwinn, RaymondRaymond Schwinn, 79, of Barry Avenue in Port Washington died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin.
He was born March 28, 1935 in the Town of Trenton, Wisconsin to Joseph Schwinn, Sr. and Mary (nee Redlinger) Schwinn. He graduated from West Bend High School and started working for Power Products in Grafton. Her served in the Army from 1957 to 1963 as a Bridge Specialist and later as an Explosive Ordinance Reconnaissance Agent for the 5th Army. When he returned home after his service he continued working for Power Products.

He married Maxine Mcgee of Alma, Wisconsin on May 12, 1967 in Waukegan, Illinois. He began working for Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington in the Quality Assurance Department. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Locals 1430 and 1340. He was a charter member of the Newburg Sportsman Club and a long time member of the Newburg Fire Department where he served as a First Lieutenant of the Rescue Squad.

Raymond was a member of Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470, Saukville and shared his passion for riding motorcycles with the Legion Riders. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington for over 40 years and served as a past president of the church. He was truly a Mr. Fixit, and enjoyed tinkering with small engines. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Maxine of Port Washington, daughter Pam (Gary) Bares of Fredonia, granddaughters Dayna Bares of Adell and Nikki (Nick) Oelke of Merrill, Wisconsin and great-grandsons Isaac and Cullin Ray Oelke. He is further survived by his sisters Eleanor Marsolek and Virginia Zeitlow, siblings-in-law Lois Pederson, Diane (Roger) McGee and Judy (Roger) Harms, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parenst, 2 infant brothers, siblings Joseph Schwinn Jr., Gerald Schwinn and Marcella Garczynski and brothers-in-law Bobby Garczynski, George Marsolek and Ken Zeitlow, Sr.

Pastor Brandon Lemons will officiate funeral services 4:30 pm Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 Milwaukee Street, Port Washington. Visitation from 2 pm to 4 pm Sunday AT CHURCH. Memorials to Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470, Saukville or Rawhide appreciated.
