Virginia E. Schuknecht, 82, of Whitefish Road, Port Washington, died February 25, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital – Ozaukee Campus in Mequon.

She was born June 13, 1921 to Arthur C. and Hazel Schultz in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Sheboygan North High School and went on to the University of Wisconsin in Madison.  In 1943 she received her teaching degree and taught Social Studies at Port Washington High School.  She left to marry William C. Schuknecht on June 14, 1946 at St. Mary’s in Port Washington.    Jinny, as she liked to be called, enjoyed needlework and was an accomplished quiltmaker.

She is survived by her husband William “Bill” of Port Washington, children Judy (Loren) Kaye of Adams, WI, David Schuknecht, Gerald “Jerry” Schuknecht, Carol (James “Novi”) Novshek and Janet Schuknecht all of Port Washington.  She was the proud grandmother Justin, Ian and Carissa Novshek.  Further survived by sister Dorothy Anderson of Schenectady, NY, brother-in-law Robert (Kathy) Schuknecht of Saukville, sister-in-law Elnor Hecimovich of Madison, WI, other relatives and friends.  Two brothers, Arthur and Robert Schultz preceded her in death.

The Rev. James Ernster will officiate Funeral services  5 pm Friday, February 27, 2004 at the funeral home.   Cremation with final interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington.  Visitation after 3 pm Friday.
