Judith A. “Judy” Schowalter, age 52, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at her Riverside Road, Fredonia home after battling ovarian cancer.

She was born on July 8, 1960, in Port Washington, WI; daughter of John P. and Evelyn M. “Evie” Seil Goelzer.  She grew up in Fredonia, graduating from Ozaukee High School in 1978.  For over 14 years, Judy did assembly work for the former Bolens Equipment Mfg. Company/Garden Way/Troy Built Co. in Port Washington until it closed.  After that she worked various jobs in the area.

On February 14, 2001, Judy married John R. Schowalter in Port Washington.  For many years they made their home in the Town of Fredonia.  Later, Judy and John bought a 160 year old farmhouse and Judy had a vision.  Since then, she has devoted countless hours to its rebirth.  From landscaping, building of stone terraces and lannon stone pathways, Judy provided the design, demolition and construction of the many projects.  It is said she got her mechanical from her father and her artistic from her mom.  She excelled in producing wonderful gardens and remolding items into a crafty and artistic nature.  One could also stop by for some fresh eggs from her band of merry chickens.

Judy is survived by her husband John, her parents Evie and John Goelzer of the Town of Fredonia, father-in-law Robert (the late Ruth) Schowalter of Saukville, sister-in-law Karen (Paul) Wilkens of Newburg, brothers-in-law Jeff (Ellen) Schowalter of Port Washington and Rick Schowalter of Saukville, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joanne Schowalter.

By her request, no services will be held.  Memorials to the Pineview Wildlife Center, W4953 County H., Fredonia, WI 53021 or the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
