OlsonDeloresDelores R. Olson, 90, of Ellen’s Home in Port Washington died July 9, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

She was born September 15, 1923 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Fred and Marie (Pier) Noeske.  She grew up in Milwaukee and married Gilbert Olson on September 25, 1943.  They moved to East Troy and later to Burlington.  While in Burlington, she operated a restaurant with her sister for a few years and later worked for the Sentry Food Store in the deli.  Her husband preceded her in death September 26, 1975.

In the late 1970’s Delores worked as a cook for the Gimbels cafeteria in Milwaukee.  She later started working as a housekeeper for the Reverend John Goebel in Lomira and Fond du Lac.  She was active with each Catholic parish she served.  Later she lived in Glendale and in 1995 she moved to Elkhorn, Wisconsin to be closer to her daughter and then moved to the Willowfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Delavan in 2009.  In 2012 she settled at Ellen’s Home in Port Washington to be close to her sisters and brother.  She loved to cook and later in life enjoyed caring for her grandson and  shopping.

She is survived by her daughter Karen (Bruce) Cook and a grandson Zachary Cook all of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.   She is further survived by her brothers Walter Noeske of Grafton, Gerald Noeske of Florence, Wisconsin; sisters Jeanette (Paul) Bartsch of Port Washington, Lucille “Louie” (the late William) Meer of Port Washington and Carol (the late Larry) Heim of Green Bay, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Susan, son David, granddaughter Kristin Cook, sisters Monica Van Wilpe, Florence Henricks, Mary Noeske Johnson and a brother Fred Noeske, Jr.

Reverend Patrick Wendt will celebrate a Memorial Mass 3 pm Friday, July 18, 2014 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington.  Visitation 2 – 3 pm Friday AT CHURCH.  Interment at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in East Troy.  Memorials Appreciated.  Flowers should be sent to the church.
