Kruke, Eugene

Eugene R. Kruke, 95, of Tri Manor in West Bend died Sunday April 11, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital in West Bend.

Born September 8, 1908 to Henry C. and Anna Steig Kruke in Port Washington, Wisconsin.  He worked at the former Chair factory in Port Washington until he served in the Army from 1942 to 1945.  He was a privatein the Signal Corps and was in the Phillipines Campaign of World War II.  Upon returning to Port Washington he lived in the family house on south Webster Street for many years.  In the early 1990’s he moved from Port Washington and was a resident of Tri Manor in West Bend for the last few years.  He was a quiet man who enjoyed walking around downtown Port Washington.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Ann Kruke of Sun City, Arizona, neices, nephew other relatives and friends.  A sister, Esther Beer, and five brothers, Edward, Walter, Norman, Raymond and Henry Kruke precede him in death.  Cremation with final interment in Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
