JentgesAdelineMAdeline M. Jentges, age 70, of West Jefferson Street, Port Washington died peacefully Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon.

She was born on May 27, 1943, daughter of Michael and Adeline Roeser Gutowski in Port Washington.  Adeline grew up on East Dodge Street, graduating from Port Washington High School.  On May 30, 1964, she married Sylvester A. Jentges of Port Washington at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.  He preceded her in death on March 3, 2009.

Over the years, she and her husband raised their family on Jefferson Street.  She worked many years at Sprague Electric in Grafton, Molded Dimensions in Port Washington and Leeson Electric in Grafton.  Most recently she worked in the deli at Saukville’s Pick’n Save grocery store.

Adeline was very active with her church.  She had been a Eucharistic Minister, St. Vincent DePaul committee member and outreach volunteer, Meals on Wheels volunteer and member of St. Mary’s Christian Women and funeral fellowship volunteer.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was a devoted wife to her ailing husband.  She treasured the annual family vacations to Michigans Upper Peninsula,  especially Mackinac Island and Sault Ste. Marie to watch the boats.  She was a “crafty” lady, creating a variety of projects, especially crocheting.  She also enjoyed the quietness of her home, just watching the birds.

She is survived by her four children, Janice (Bruce) Doers, Joyce Jentges and James (Angela) Jentges, all of the Town of Port Washington and Patrick (Colleen) Jentges of the Town of Fredonia, six grandchildren Matthew (Jenny) Doers, Thomas (Megan Arrowood) Doers and Elizabeth (Jim Sossong) Doers, Sarah, Rachel and Leah Jentges, great-granddaughter Allison Adeline Doers and step-great-grandson Adam Watry.  She is further survived by her sister Sharon Gutowski of Milwaukee, brother-in-law John (Nancy) Jentges, Jr. of Belgium, sister-in-law Arlene Jentges of the Town of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Syl, his sister Marian Risch and his brothers Walter and Edwin Jentges.

We will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 430 N. Johnson Street, Port Washington.  Reverend Thomas Lijewski will be the celebrant.  Visitation will take place from 3-6PM Monday at the POOLE FUNERAL HOME/CREMATORY, 203 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington with a 3PM Rosary.  Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington.  Memorials to the parish are appreciated.
