Lucille A. Janke, age 84, formerly of St. Rose Avenue, Fredonia passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac where she has resided the past few years.
She was born on January 26, 1930, only child of Henry and Frieda Baars Janke. She grew up on the family farm outside of Fredonia, later moving to the village with her parents.
Lucille was a graduate of Port Washington High School, class of 1948. She worked at the former Fredonia State Bank for many years. She loved music and played piano “by ear”. She found great joy with her horse “Red’. Over the years, Lucille lived in Sheboygan and Port Washington.
She is survived by her cousins, other relatives and friends. Family Services were held. The Reverend Robert Zick officiated at St. John Lutheran Church and Cemetery in Fredonia.
