Iva J. Hubing, age 91, of Milwaukee, formerly of Belgium and Port Washington, WI peacefully passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Luther Manor where she had recently resided.

She was born on March 16, 1926 in Polo, Missouri; daughter of William T. and Ida Mae Stevens Yoho. As a young child, the family moved to Batavia, WI where she grew up and attended local schools.

On October 25, 1947, Iva married Richard D. Hubing of Belgium, WI at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Church, town of Belgium. After a few years in Belgium, the family moved to Port Washington in the 1960’s. There they raised their family until 1980, Richard retired and they moved to Sedona, AZ. They enjoyed the Arizona sunshine. The family grew with grandchildren and great-grandchildren of which Iva enjoyed them all. Richard preceded her in death on January 21, 1991. After almost 30 years, Iva returned to Wisconsin to be with her family.

Iva was active in the ladies guild of her church in Sedona for many years. She lived a long, faithful and happy life of which her family is deeply grateful.

Iva is survived by her children, Eugene (Annmarie) Hubing of Newton, MA; Kathy (Tim Duax) Hubing of Milwaukee and Holly Hubing-Evans of Minnetonka, MN; her grandchildren Kristin Hubing, Zachary (Chrissie), Aria (John) and Liam Duax and Ryan (Becca) and Andy (Tiegan) Evans, her great-grandchildren William and Annabelle Evans, her sister-in-law Sylvia Yoho of Random Lake, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard and her brothers Dean Yoho and Jerry and his wife Elaine Yoho.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. John XXIII Parish-St. Mary’s Church, 430 N Johnson Street, Port Washington, WI. Reverend Patrick Wendt will be the celebrant. Family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30AM-1PM Saturday AT CHURCH prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church, town of Belgium.

  2. Such sad news…Rita Decker (my Mom) told me the news yesterday. Iva Jean and Rita were good friends…I think my Mom is taking her passing quite hard. Eugene, Kathy and Holly my condolences to you and all of your loved ones. I can so picture your Mom’s fun loving laughter and genuine smile…I also remember her beautiful home and lovely gardens. Rest in peace Iva Jean!
