Elvera M. Hetzel, 89, of Green Bay Road, town of Port Washington died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Cedar Grove Gardens, Cedar Grove where she had been a resident for the past three months.

She was born on May 21, 1917 in Belgium, Wisconsin to Nicholas and Katherine Schueller Klos.  On May 24, 1941 she married Edward H. Hetzel of Fredonia at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, town of Belgium, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death on March 24, 1964.

For many years she farmed in Random Lake until her husband’s death.  She later moved to Belgium for a time and finally to the Town of Port Washington to live with her son Gordon and his wife Sandra.  She had been employed at the Allen Edmonds Shoe Mfg. Co. in Belgium and later with Lake Central Leathers of Grafton, retiring in 1984.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sandra Hetzel of the Town of Port Washington, her sisters Rita (Robert) Goschey and Harriet Tholl, both of Belgium; her brother Stanley (Mary Ann) Klos of West Bend, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded by her husband, son Gordon, sisters Lozelle, Camella and Alberta and brothers Norbert, Elroy and Quintin.

Funeral services will be 7 PM Tuesday, June 20 from the Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington to St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, Port Washington for mass at 7:30PM.  The Reverend Pat Wendt will be the celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Random Lake.  Visitation will be from 4-7PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials to St. Peter’s Church or the Ozaukee Humane Society appreciated.
