Buettner, Elizabeth

Elizabeth J. Buettner, 74, of W Lincoln Avenue, Port Washington died at her residence January 18, 2005.

She was born April 24, 1930 in Algoma, Wisconsin to Ervin and Leona Kostichka Holdorf.  She met Harold Viste of Door County Wisconsin and married him on January 27, 1952 in Algoma, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death April 11, 1970.  On June 23, 1973 she married William Buettner of Waubeka, Wisconsin in Fredonia.  They resided on County A west of Waubeka and she worked as a cashier at Baumann’s Meats in Waubeka.  He preceded her in death December 29, 1987.  Betty moved to Mequon in 1988 and in 2003 she moved to Lincoln Village in Port Washington.  She was a caring homemaker and  enjoyed knitting, making many afghans, socks and sweaters for family and friends.

She is survived by her children Barbara (Gary) Emrich of Mequon, Marlene (Joe) Weiland of Waubeka and Al (Barb) Viste of Black River Falls, Wisconsin.  She was a proud grandma of 5 grandchildren.  Further survived by brother Edward (Pat) Holdorf of Algoma, Wisconsin, other relatives and friends.

Fr. Allan Sommer will officiate memorial funeral services 2 pm Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the funeral home.  Mrs. Buettner will be cremated with final interment in Northern Wisconsin.  Visitation from 1 – 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
