WilliBleyWilliamCam C. Bley, 80, of E Monroe Street in Port Washington died peacefully September 16, 2007 at his residence after a short battle with cancer.

He was born August 18, 1927 in Port Washington to Alois H. “Allie” and Frances Antoine Bley.  As a kid he was a pinsetter for his dad at the former Bley’s Recreation in Port Washington and also worked at the former Ozaukee Springs Bottling.  He served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Corporal in the U S Army.  On May 11, 1957 he married Esther F. Hansen of Port Washington at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.

Bill worked for a brief time at Bolens Manufacturing but eventually took a job at the Port Washington Filtration Plant in 1976.  He retired in 1994 as the plant operator.  Along with his brothers Bob and Don he helped operate the family business, Bley’s Recreation for many years.  Bill loved to bowl and was the Knights of Columbus league secretary for over twenty years, a member of the Ozaukee County Bowlers Hall Of Fame and the American Bowling Congress Hall Of Fame in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was also a member of the Port Washington Senior Center Green Felt Club, the Van Ells – Schanen American Legion Post 82, Port Washington, Memorial Post 7588 Veterans of Foreign Wars and an inductee on the Port Washington High School Wall of Honor.  He loved to play sheepshead and was the BIGGEST Packer and Brewer Fan.

Bill is survived by his wife Esther, children Bill (Robin) Bley, Mary Jo (Larry) Lorenz all of Port Washington, Mark Bley of Cedarburg, Jeff (Dawn) Bley and Roger (Wendy) Bley both of Port Washington.  Further survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers Allan (Char) Bley of Racine, Wisconsin, Fred (Betty) Bley and Gary (Shirley) Bley both of Port Washington.  He is also survived by his in-laws Sylvia Bley of Cedarburg, Iva Bley of Port Washington, Doris (Ray) Tiegs of Grafton, Paul (Joan) Hansen, James Hansen and Loschel Pierringer all of Port Washington.  Preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Donald, sisters-in-law Germain “Tommi” Bley, Pat Bley, Mary Jane Janzer, and Ruth Pierringer nad a brother-in-law Tom Hansen.

The Rev. Patrick Wendt will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial 7:30 pm Wednesday, September 19, 2007 pm at St. Peter Of Alcantara Catholic Church,  1800 N Wisconsin Street, Port Washington.  Interment parish cemetery.  Visitation from 4 – 7:15  PM Wednesday AT CHURCH.   Memorials of choice appreciated.
