Veronica L. Anderson, age 92, of Port Washington, WI; formerly of Bessemer, MI and Graceville, MN; passed away peacefully Friday, October 26, 2018 at McKinley Place in Cedarburg, WI.

She was born at home on September 19, 1926 in Avoca, MN; daughter of John J. and Mary Schindler Reinart. Veronica grew up on the family farm with her eleven siblings. She was an x-ray technician after high school. On September 14, 1948, she married Leo M. Anderson of Wheaton, MN at St. Barnabas Church in Barry, MN.

Leo received his degree in Forestry at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and for many years, he worked for the US Forest Service. They were stationed in Blackwell and Park Falls, WI and Ontonagon and Bessemer, MI.

Together, Veronica and Leo raised their family. She was active in her faith and with her church. She enjoyed involvement with the ladies guilds and food preparation, as well as, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts when the children were young. Scrabble was her favorite game and a good round of Bridge.

Leo preceded her in death on October 6, 1993 in Bessemer. Shortly thereafter, Veronica moved back to Minnesota to be near family. She moved to Port Washington, WI in 2012.

She is survived by her children Judi (Norris) Erickson of the town of Port Washington, Kathy (Wayne) Peterson of Coeur D’alene, ID and Michael (Rita) Anderson of Golden Valley, MN; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Veronica is preceded in death by her husband Leo, her son Gerald Anderson and her eleven siblings.

Her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6PM Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. John XXIII Parish-St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1802 N. Wisconsin Street, Port Washington, WI. Reverend Patrick Wendt will be the celebrant. Family will receive relatives and friends from 5-6PM Thursday AT CHURCH prior to the Mass. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer, MI.

  1. I just opened last weeks Press (my mail comes late) and saw Ronnie’s notice. My heart and prayers are with your whole family. I have many fond memories of my “2nd mother in Bessemer”.

  3. My condolences to the family of Ronnie Anderson. Ronnie and Leo were such wonderful friends of my parents, Bev and Joe Bria. They had many good times at the cottage along with Jim and Fran McCarthy. I remember visiting the Anderson home on Cinnabar, which was later purchased my sister, Theresa, and husband, Robb Kimmes. Ronnie was delighted to have her home go to someone from the Bria family. My Ronnie rest in peace.
