Eschweiler, Damian E.

Damian E. Eschweiler, 64, of Michael Court in Port Washington was born to eternal life Monday, July 12, 2010 at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.

He was born January 27, 1946 to Ralph and Joyce White Eschweiler.  He graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee. On October 2, 1987 he married Margaret “Peggy” Schmit of Port Washington in Milwaukee.  After their marriage they lived in Port Washington and he was self employed, selling building products and doing landscaping.  More recently he worked in the sales department of Culligan Water in Waukesha.  He retired from Culligan after ten years in 2007.

Damian enjoyed sports, especially baseball, and his yard.  He was also an organ recipient over 10 years ago.  The family extends a special thanks to Drs. Jose Franco and Ronald Siegel, nursing staff and all who contributed to Damian’s care over the years at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. 

He is survived by his wife Peggy of Port Washington, children Julie (Bob) Dlugopolski of Grafton, James (Siobain) Eschweiler of Seattle, Washington, Jennifer (Nelson) Luna of Glendale and Joseph Eschweiler of Port Washington, grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Catherine, Colin, Eilis, Nicholas, Adela, Marco and Maximilian.  Further survived by siblings  Laura (Cliff) VanBeek of West Bend, Mary (Herb) Zimmers of Fox Point , Amy (Jim) Behlmer of Milwaukee  and Andrew Eschweiler of Milwaukee, siblings-in-law Susie Heinzelman of Mequon, Mike (Bo) Schmit of Port Washington and Jim (Maureen) Schmit of Port Washington, special pets Mia and Teddy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Joyce, a brother Peter Eschweiler and father and mother-in-law Joseph (Jane) Schmit.

Rev. Thomas Lijewski will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial 2 pm Thursday July 15, 2010 at St. Mary’s Church, 430 Johnson Street, Port Washington.  Visitation Noon – 2 pm Thursday AT CHURCH.  Interment parish Cemetery.
