Altendorf, Elizabeth J. "Betty"

Elizabeth J. Altendorf, 79, formerly of Roger Street, Port Washington died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

She was born November 14, 1927 to Porter and Charlotte Maluge Greenwood in Marshfield, Wisconsin.  She studied music at Ripon College.  On August 20, 1949 she married Richard “Dick” Altendorf of Port Washington at the First Methodist Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin.  They raised a family on N Roger Street.  He preceded her in death June 1, 2006.

Betty was the former church organist for Friedens Evangelical church for over 20 years and a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She lived at Mequon Care Center for many years and was a resident of the Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center in Milwaukee for the last three years. 

She is survived by her children Alan (Theresa) Altendorf of California, Jon (Gail) Altendorf of Cudahy, Barry (Sue) of Port Washington, Mark (Laurie) Altendorf of Nekoosa, Wisconsin and Roger (Wendy) Altendorf of Raleigh, North Carolina.  Further survived by grandchildren Amber (Andrew) Schmidt and Jason (Danielle) and Charles Julian “CJ” Altendorf, great grandchildrenf Bryson and Madison Altendorf-Massie and Aiden Schmidt, sisters Charlotte (Maurice) Hamm of Ridge Crest, California, Mary Lou (Eugene) Kohl of Ramona, California, Grace (Michael) Michaelsen of Lake Wells, Florida and Ruth (Charles) Wagner of Algoma, Wisconsin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

A heartfelt thank you to the Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center and her caregiver Sue.

Pastor Mark Voll of Friedens Evangelical Church will officiate funeral services 5PM Thursday, November  8, 2007 at the funeral home.  Interment Union Cemetery, Port Washington.  Visitation 2-5PM Thursday.  Memorials appreciated.
